Thank you for your interest in submitting a piece to the Philadelphia Printworks blog! Below you’ll find some guidelines and a general idea of what we’re looking for.

To get some sense of what we typically accept, I recommend reading through a few of the articles we’ve already published. Our blog is in line with the company mission: to encourage a culture of activism and inclusion. We seek passionate pieces from a diverse range of voices. We want you to write about what is important to you.

We accept both pitches and first drafts. You can email either to If you’re pitching, please include a brief summary, a writing sample, a projected length for the piece, and how soon you can write it. We typically publish pieces ~1,000 words in length. If you’re submitting a full draft, attach it using google docs, or paste the piece into the body of the e-mail. Please include a 1-2 line summary of the topic at hand. Writers will be paid for accepted articles.

We're also looking for photo essays to feature on the PPW Blog. Submissions should include 6-10 photos exploring a social justice theme (ex: a local protest, local effects of gentrification, education reform, etc.). To submit, please email with a brief summary of your work, including samples or a pitch.

If you would like to submit a book to our reading series, please email the following to

    1. A clear photo of the book.
    2. Your IG, Twitter or contact information.
    3. A review ~600-1,000 words that includes:
      1. Why is this book important?
      2. What did you like most about the book? Least?
      3. What is your favorite quote from the book?

We look forward to hearing from you!
